3.5 Dining Area Setup

This is a pre-view of the new INI setting by Dining Area. We are still doing some tweaking on these screens so the final released product might be different from what is shown here, but we are wanting to share with you in advance some of the massive changes we have been making for out 3.5 release (aka 3.4 beta). We will likely add "tool tips" over each item so that a user can hover the mouse on an option and get more details on what it does.

All setup that could be done by Dining Area is now. The rule was "if the software knew a current dining area, then the setting at that point would be by dining area." Things such as terminal performance, server checkouts, time clock, or management functions could not controlled by dining area.

The General tab is the same as in prior versions, except the Pricing information has been moved to the Pricing tab.

The Pricing tab contains pricing information that was previously on the General page as well as selection of Taxing Departments and Tax Categories that are available for checks in this dining area.

The Active Check tab contains all of the INI settings from the old INI files that pertained to ringing up items, saving, and transferring checks. A few of the check boxes were setup via the General page in dining areas in the past and have been moved so it is all a 1 stop screen.

The Check Display screen controls how the on screen check is displayed. A new option here is selection for which Speed Menus are available. You can have up to 20 Speed Menus defined in the system, and they can be available by TOD, DOW, and Dining Area.

The Printing tab allows control over how Chits print, as well as which printers to print to. The Routing Schemes allow print control based on TOD, DOW, and Dining Area. This permits mobile devices to print to the appropriate location for the table the order is being rung in on.

The Receipt screen has all of the receipt printing INI options (bet you never realized just how configurable our receipts are).

The Payments screen has all of the payment related INI options. A new box allows payments to be selected that are available for checks in this dining area. This allows you to have multiple Visa payments for use around the restaurant with possibly setting to different merchant accounts, etc (dine in, delivery, patio bar).

The KDS, CSI, Loyalty, and PMS tabs bring over the setup from the INI files for their respective operations.
