POS Digital Scales Enhance Deli and Seafood Operations

With version 2.8 of the onePOS system, deli and seafood restaurants that sell by the pound can easily use the onePOS system.

Using an Avery Berkel 6700 series scale, the onePOS system will automatically price the item based on its weight as read directly from the scale. The Fusion application is configured to monitor a specific com port on a POS Terminal, and when an item through the POS terminal application is rung up which is marked as "price per pound", a query is automatically made to the scale for the item's weight. If the scale returns a valid weight, the price and quantity of the item are added to the guest check. If the scale is not functional, a keypad is displayed to allow entry of the weight, up to 2 decimal points.
