Zero Guest Count on No Food

Counting guests is seemingly always a source of concern for end users. While onePOS works extremely well for counting guests if the system is used as it is designed, some users from other legacy POS system have other ideas on how it should work.

To move a step close to satisfy everyone, we have added support for a rule that allows a check to become 0 guests if there is no food on that check, as most "fine dining" restaurants want to do for making sure their bar patrons do not effect their check averages for their dining patrons. The rule could be used for other reasons, but overall that his how it will be used.

Your options are to set the guest count to 0, prompt if the guest count should be 0, or to set the calculated guest count to 0 when closing a check with no food items on it. I've included a screen shot of the setup for this rule we use in our lab, but of course you are welcome to tweak the criteria to best work for each of your locations.
